How to Backup Contacts on Smartphone

We know how important is phone contact numbers and most of the time we thinking about backup that but where is the options to get it on smartphones or how to do that because contacts file may lost anytime for a reasons such factory rest, drop the phone somewhere, lost the phone or even your kids tap the wrong button accidentally while on playing.Or if you buy a new smartphone and you should need to transfer contacts from old phone to newer one. So first we should backup our contacts from smartphone to computer is a better way to save your contacts whenever needed.


For Android

 Method 1 ( If you don't have an internet connection, follow these steps)
Step 1: Go to Phone icon > contacts > tap menu button which is placed at the bottom of your phone.
Step 2: Select Export contacts and choose storage option for backup contact file and tap OK button.
Step 3: Go to file manager on your smartphone, if you don't have just download ES File Explorer or click here.
Step 4: After that search the backup contact file or just search vcard file in search box and then it will shows.
Step 5: Copy contact file and paste into your computer or memory devices, when you don't have computer just leave it, move and keep the file in defined place of your file manager.
If you want to transfer contacts from old phone to new one just send vcard file via bluetooth, after received a file from your new phone > Contacts > tap menu button > import contacts, it will searching a contact file automatically and also imported on your contact list. 
If need to factory reset your phone just send a vcard file to computer or external storage devices. After reset just go to contact menu > tap import contacts and it will imported automatically.
Method 2 (If you have an internet connection, follow these steps)
Step 1: Go to Settings > Accounts and sync > your E-mail > check there is tick mark for Sync contacts.
If you want to add contacts list in your new smartphone just sign in with your existing gmail account and it will automatically imported contact list, if nothing happens check there is tick mark for sync contacts from Accounts and sync option.

For iPhone

Method 1 (If you don't have an internet connection, follow these steps)
Step 1: Go to iTunes on your computer or download iTunes for Windows and Mac here and connect your iPhone to computer using USB data cable.
Step 2: Select iPhone icon on the top left side and click "info" tab.
Step 3: Make sure "Sync contacts" has been marked.
Step 4: Right click on your phone icon and select "Back up", Contacts has been saved in the form of vcard file.
 If you want to restore contacts from PC to your iPhone, connect your PC and iPhone via USB cable > iTunes > Right click iPhone device > click "Restore from back up" and it will be restored.
Method 2 (If you have an internet connection, follow these steps)
Step 1: Go to Settings > iCloud > sign in with your existing account.
Step 2: Make sure that "Contacts" button is turned ON (Green).
Step 3: Scroll down and make sure "Storage and Back up" is turned ON and tap "Back up" right now, contacts has been saved and you can navigate that file easily by enter vcard into the search box.
 If you want to restore contacts Settings > iCloud > Sign in with your existing account > Tap ON "Contacts" and it will be updating your contact lists on your device automatically.
